Into their town
he sang and danced;
Bohemian rhapsody,
razzmatazzed.
He broke their rules
with his spirit of unrest.
They criticised yet
adored him with their confused,
bedazzled breast.
He knew.
This was his conundrum.
He remained,
and felt the squeeze;
so tight,
he could barely breathe --
until the light
could bear no more.

I think MJ, himself, upped the ante forcing himself to outdo what he'd done. That's a lot of pressure in addition to all the emotional stuff and his addictions.
Very tortured soul. K.
Wholeheartedly agree, K.! Most times, he was his own worst enemy, but look what he had to go through as a child. I'm not making excuses for him, but he truly had so many psychological scars.
Love the poem Petra. I think it could fit many famous folks who have lived through out history.
