1. This photo is an overhead view of Edinburgh from Edinburgh Castle.
2. Edinburgh Castle
3. Traveling from Learmonth Court, my residence, onto Princess Street, one of the main streets in Edinburgh.
4. Learmonth Court, once owned by a Duke, was converted into hundreds of flats (apartments). It's in the above background of photo.
5. And here I am donning an 80's perm! Ugh! Never before and never since! ;)
I and my companions from Australia and Japan were at Loch Ness in search of Nessie, but instead, to our delight, were visited by lovely swans.

Lovely photos Petra. Edinburgh is beautiful!
Just asking? Tell me that's not a fur coat you're wearing! K.
Scotland, Ireland, England were beautiful, K.! I wanted to travel to Paris, but there was a bombing which stopped me dead in my tracks!
But I really scoured Scotland so I was pretty busy getting to the people and made many friends!
Well, it's an imitation fur coat which I've dropped from my wardrobe many years ago. For me, even imitation fur, is an encouragement. I'm in total agreement with your concern, K.
Wow, how fun is that! Sigh... oh to be there again huh? And those swans look so graceful, even in pictures!
BYW, I've got hand-me-downs fur coats and I lurve to wear them. It's a personal decision for everybody, unfortunately not everyone is tolerant in this area.
An incredible experience, Janeen, it was! One of the highlights of my life!
I truly understand what you mean! For me, I haven't worn, even an imitation fur, for many years. That picture was taken in the winter of 1985. I stopped wearing them soon after that because I remember thinking how warm one can be without sacrificing animals!
Petra-I loved the photos perm and all :) I had many of those 80s perms-and my husband acutally wishes I still had one!
You're so gorgeous, Tipper, you could wear anything! This was definitely not my style! ;)
Glad you enjoyed the photos! It would have taken me weeks to scan the rest! :))
What gorgeous pictures!
Thank you, MZ!
How funny - my English teacher at school was Mrs Learmont! And yes, she was a Scot. She was very stern, and most people hated her, but I liked her.
I also loved my eighties perm. It was the first time in my life that my hair was under control and actually looked tidy. LOL!
hahaha, Jay! Perhaps she hadn't inherited the money due her from the Duke! ;)
A perm can go so totally wrong or miraculously perfect! It looks like I'm wearing a wig! My hair is pin straight. Well, with hormone changes, it's gotten a little wavier. I'm happy setting my hair in hot curlers and letting the curls fall where they may!
Never again, Jay! EVER! :))
I had to chuckle at the perm Petra. The hairdoo's are always a giveaway at when the photos where taken.
It looks like you saw some amazing places - it's fun to go down your memory lane :)
