SUNDAY IS FOR POETRY: Grieving

Children...
Helpless, speechless
Hoping to be heard,
comforted, consoled
Cataloguing harbored nightmares
Scarred, outside and in
As they sleep in the web of violent designs.

The children of Palestine, Sudan, Afghanistan come to mind when I read this. Very powerful Petra!

Wouldn't you love to be able to sweep them all up in your arms and comfort them? We have a foster child in Columbia - I wish we could do more.

Lovely poem, Petra.

and some grow up and still carry all the weight and sorrow with them. Deep thoughts.

A great one! Definitely heavy is a word that comes to mind. Nothing is worse than the suffering of children.

Have a great day!

Hey there... This is a lovely poem. I like the part about "cataloging harbored nightmares". We do that, don't we?
