MY COLLAGE OF LIFE
is dying.
It's weak, frail, and sighing,
For your love sweet people to give;
Maybe, just maybe,
My collage of life will live.
Will you splash it with your kindness?
Caress it with your tenderness.
If your dreams remain true, alive,
Maybe, just maybe,
Your collage of life will survive.
Can we find peace and harmony?
Is there hope?
Is there compassion?
Do we search aimlessly?
The collage of life will see.
You may say I'm a beggar,
But it really doesn't matter.
Extend your hand and
You will have expanded,
Our collage of life together.

My "Collage of Life" was the poem to post first. I apologize for the confusion.
Thank you. :))
I was wondering Petra. I had just commented on a poem but knew this was different.
Anyway, love this. You really do try to make an impact in any way you can. I wish many others would get the message.

Yes, K., I apologize for the confusion.
K., I wrote this poem in the mid-90's. I began my work with Greenpeace in the 80's and the news was bleak then.
And you're right, I will try in any way I can. When I called the EPA during the BP spill in the Gulf, one scientist had a "real conversation with me." I'll post the link to that post:

During those first two weeks of the spill, I was on the phone with whoever would talk with me.
I think you'll find that entire page interesting, K.
Thanks for the link Petra. I'm going to read as much as possible now, before I start dinner.
K.
Very nicely put, Petra. If only everyone felt this way.
David
Thank you, David. I wish so, too.
I read your efforts with the EPA on your link. I applaud them. I'm a vegetarian. That's one way we can go.
We must work together!
K. :)
Petra, I was going to mention the same thing as one of your other readers. I was confused about the order of your posts because I had just commented on the one below it and somehow missed this one.
Also, sometimes your posts don't sync with the posts on your blog and on my feed reader for some reason. I don't know whether you sometimes post out of sequence, but they somehow get jumbled on my reader. So, if I miss a post, please forgive me, my friend.
Anyway...this post is soooooooo beautiful! Such insightful words!
And I am a HUGE Marvin Gaye fan, so I loved the clip!
X
I realize now that I "scheduled" both poems for the same day, accidently.
Thank you for that, Ron. It started out easily, then became more difficult for whatever reason. I still think it can use some work. But the gist is there, I believe... :))
