It's snowing, and, in my humble opinion, the best film for a snow day is:

Two men go on an excursion to California wine country and end up inducing joint midlife crises when pinot noir lover Miles (Paul Giamatti) convinces engaged Jack (Thomas Hayden Church) to enjoy his last days of bachelorhood in style.

When I first saw Sideways, I couldn't stop laughing.  Now in my film collection, it's one of the first I pull for a fun time.  Great with pizza and "a bottle of red, a bottle of white, it all depends upon your appetite..." Billy Joel

Scenes from an Italian Restaurant, Billy Joel

Sweet Honky Tonk Wine, Wayne Kemp

Petra, you're not going to believe this (or you might) but I just recently bought this movie because my brother kept telling me for OVER a year that I would love it. And guess what? I DID! OMG...it's a faaaabulous film! And so perfect for anyone who loves wine! I love the whole cast in this film, especially Paul Giamatti and Virginia Madsen. Paul's acting was so impressive because he nailed the comedy, but was also superb at all the serious scenes. He was riveting!

Oh and also, the video clip you shared of Billy Joel is one of my all-time favorites. Great song! I love the variety of tempos in this song. I also like the song, "Just The Way You Are!" It reminds me of the years I spent living in NYC when that song first came out - 1977.

Enjoyable post, my friend! Thank you!

Hi Ron!

You're so right about Paul Giamatti. He plays the part of the depressed divorcee superbly and expresses it with such pathos.

I don't know how many times I've watched it now, Ron. :))
