Note: One can only imagine how many photos I'd taken over the period of a year as I've traveled the breadth of Scotland, and some of England, Wales, and Ireland. The following are just a few of hundreds.
Besides Edinburgh, I adore a city in the Scottish Highlands called Inverness. Have seriously considered relocating there. Perhaps I was drawn to the water running through it from the River Ness (Inverness means, in Scottish Gaelic, "mouth of the river Ness"), its jovial and hospitable people, its majestic settings, plus the mystery which can never be explained away. I visited for at least a week during which time I searched for Nessie at Loch Ness, only to find swans (left photo in collage). I was so in love with Inverness and stayed at this lovely inn which was taken during the winter when I revisited.
It seemed there had been a castle in every city I visited. In the collage above in the lower photo is Edinburgh Castle. Enjoy a very small glimpse into Scotland, Ireland, and England.

Have never been to Scotland but have always heard such wonderful things about it.

Faaaaaaaabulous post, Petra! What super array of photographs! They make me wanna visit Scotland so much!I especially love the 3rd photograph down, the house with the snow on it, because I love winter and snow!
I have only visited two places in Europe (Amsterdam, Holland and Brussels, Belgium) both of which I enjoyed. I would loved to take a year off and do nothing but travel all over Europe. There is something about Europe that has always intrigued me - the history and the architecture.
What a great selection of songs from the '80's! "Take on Me" from a-ha was one of my favorite videos of that time because of the graphics. Also, "We Are The World" was a fabulous song with a great message!

It is fun to see your photos, Petra Michelle! Have you ever heard of the Outlander series of books by Diana Gabaldon? They are set in Scotland and are about time travelers. That's my extent of knowledge on Scotland. I have never been to Europe, but I would love to visit some day.

Have always wanted to visit Holland and Belgium, myself. About Europe, if all one has to do is travel, it's really quite easy to get around. But I wanted to learn Scotland and met so many wonderful people.
In 1985, these were the songs played over and over in the clubs; others too, but I wondered what the YouTube limit is, though I know I've posted more than today's. ;)
