She sits on her bathing chair
Turns on the tap
Then dampens the cloth
With her sweetest soap
Savoring its scent
The lather slides over her natural markings
A tattoo artist couldn't capture
I wash her hair of silver
Massage her weary mind
The benign wash cloth soothing her back
While the rinse splashes over her
She smiles as if she'd prefer to linger longer
Instead she dresses into her pale blue gown
And crawls into bed.
Perhaps I'll make roast chicken later, she says.

I love this poem! I love the benign washcloth - it speaks volumes!

How very very real and pure and the graphic perfect Sandy

Muse: Thank you for the fun award!
Will be posting it soon! :))
Sandy: Thank you so much! :))
Enzie: Vielen dank! :))
Levis: As my mother is 75 and has health issues, I try to celebrate every day as though it were Mother's Day. Thank you for your suggestion. I'll have a look! :))
This is truly, truly lovely.
Petra that is a lovely poem... just beautiful and tender.
And yes, Melody and I are sisters and I'm the YOUNGER one. hee hee (It's a joke with us) We had so much fun at her tea party.
BTW, others have been asking, so I'll share with you too that I did get my face shield at Sally's Beauty Supply store here in town, they are a chain so you can probably find one near you too. I remember it being inexpensive at the time too, like $8 or something. Saves my face from more acne than I need at 40 years old - geeesh, when is it going to stop! ha ha
Have a great day!
Mama Zen: Thank you! :))
Janeen: Acne? If you didn't mention, I'd never have known.
It's overshadowed by your beautiful smile and personality!
:))
It's the quiet little poem that speaks loudly.
PV: Just another ordinary day in her life! Thank you! :))
Hello, thanks for stopping by. Janeen and I do love our teas but I think decorating our tables is more fun. It's like a two day event just for that...LOL She takes the best pictures too.
I do love this poem, very touching.
Oh Petra-it is just so full of love and tenderness. I feel as though I can see her sweet face.
What a sweet poem. It reminds me of when I was taking care of my mother while she had cancer. We got really close during that time.
